NEW BEGINNINGS LEWES DRAMA COLLECTIVE

Change for good for award winning Lewes drama groups

Following a wonderful decade of growth at Lewes Theatre and sold out performances by our talented junior club and youth group members, we are expanding our acting tuition and stage production offering to mature students.

The move from Lewes Little Theatre as the Lewes Theatre Youth Group (LTYG), means that our regular classes and rehearsal sessions will take place at a number of venues to accommodate the differently sized groups in Lewes, whilst our shows will be performed at Lewes’ well beloved multi-purpose community venue, the All Saints Centre.

To reflect our future aspirations and ability to cater for performing arts enthusiasts of all ages and abilities, we will now be known as Lewes Drama Collective.

We are of course extremely grateful to everyone at Lewes Theatre for allowing our members to flourish over the years, and wish them all the best in their own seasons to come.

Theatre for all ages and abilities:

Lewes Drama Collective students learn about the world of performing arts through fun, engaging and didactic drama experiences in each class, whilst also participating in professional theatre productions that provide the skills needed to become a successful performing artist.

As well as performing monologues, taking on scripted roles and devising their own pieces, students can work with experienced backstage crews in order to learn more about the entire process of theatre production by trying their hands at stage management, directing, lighting and sound.

Each term, our talented groups, which include children, teens, young adults and maturer individuals, learn plays, perform and craft shows from different writers so that audiences may enjoy all the variety that Lewes Drama Collective has to offer and so that students may develop a plethora of character and stage skills.

Lewes Drama Collective is proud to have an inclusive environment where individuals from all walks of life and abilities may enjoy an immersive theatre workshop and production experience.
